Gifts That Provide for Others

Often, you can accomplish more for Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center and your loved ones together than you can by providing separately for each.

Provide Lifetime Income to Surviving Loved Ones
You can establish an arrangement in your will or living trust to pay income to one or more surviving loved ones for their lives or a term of years, after which Defenders will receive the principal.  These arrangements may take the form of a qualified charitable remainder trust or charitable gift annuity.  For more information on these types of gifts, please contact your attorney or our office.

This is an ideal way to assure the financial security of a surviving spouse, sister, brother, friend, child or grandchild, while knowing that assets will ultimately be used to help those in need in our community.  If you want to provide for your spouse, you might also consider a “QTIP” (“qualified terminal interest property”) trust which would not only pay income to your spouse for life, but would also enable him or her to utilize principal if needed.

Provide a Loved One with Use of Your Personal Residence or Vacation Home
You can leave your personal residence or a vacation home to Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center, but reserve the right for your spouse or other loved one to remain in your home for the rest of his or her life.

Provide Heirs with a Portion of Your Estate at Reduced Gift or Estate Tax With a Charitable Lead Trust
You can transfer a portion of your estate to heirs (generally children or grandchildren) at reduced gift or estate tax through a Charitable Lead Trust established now or through your will.  A Charitable Lead Trust would make payments to one or more charities for your life or a term of years, after which the principal would be distributed to your heirs.
